![]() It's just not a comfortable ride by any means.ġ) DDs can't usually be removed in 1 or 2 salvos, and NC's guns don't cooperate. But I noticed, even when playing Richelieu or Massa and getting frustrated at landing shots, I still find things to enjoy with these boats. Maybe today more than usual I've felt the anger against RNG. But I do find it much easier to drop-off with NoCal. ![]() I am a cruiser/destroyer player, so I just kind of assume I'd always be detected in a battleship. This is not an issue I have with any other battleships, be they more or less accurate.Īnd you are correct I forgot her concealment. The problem is that I more-often-than-not completely bracket the target, with 0 hits, or overpens + torpedo protection. My issue with the guns is that I have no issue shooting at the target. I took me to 2 salvos to land a couple hits and kill it. but I am crazy thinking her dispersion is poorĮarlier today I had a broadside Alsace at < 10km. It seems I am not crazy thinking the NoCal lacks a certain je-ne-sais-quoi these days. NC’s 45s), which translates to higher velocity/slightly less floaty shells while still maintaining the excellent AP performance. Iowa and Montana graduate to 50 caliber guns (vs. The guns are very strong, but the combination of good accuracy and poor ballistics mean that aiming is less forgiving than most other BBs. ![]() I found that once I figured out her ballistics, I really enjoyed NC. My advice would be to keep practicing to get a better feel for NC’s guns. I suspect the resultant flat ballistic arcs are why you get better results with Richelieu: while the guns are objectively less accurate, it’s much easier to lead targets at range. Richelieu has worst-in-game French/Italian/European dispersion and “standard” 1.8 sigma, but what her guns do have going for them is high velocity (as well as high pen for 381s as a result). They hit very hard and higher shell arcs tend to result in less vertical dispersion, but leading targets at range can be challenging. The thing that sets her gunnery apart from CO is the floaty nature of her shells. Along with CO, she has the best accuracy parameters on any USN tech tree BB: the ubiquitous USN/UK/German dispersion curve and 2.0 sigma. NC’s dispersion is objectively excellent. The only citadels I get are wh en I blind shot or just. I've had better salvos regularly with Richelieu. And yes, I read she's MEANT to have good dispersion. Or getting full overpens on 90 degrees angled battleships. The amount of time I perfectly bracket a target and get no hit. The dispersion is absolutely a trocious. (note: according to my stats at I'm actually doing well in it. frustrating.Īm I missing something? Is she meant to play differently than the traditional long/mid-range battleship? I have no issues getting kills and citadels in Richelieu, Massachusetts, or even destroyers (Yorck/Myoko, which I'm currently grinding, are citadel machines). I was perfectly positioned to bounce shells. Just then, I got citadelled TWICE while perfectly angled, by a Shikishima and by a Musashi. See, other ships have things they can do if they don't hit. These type of ships are meant to punish broadside. The only citadels I get are when I blind shot or just. But occasionally, on some boats, I have fun. Now, I don't like playing battleships in general.
